Gif Lockley is currently the principal at the Savannah Arts Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, a National Blue Ribbon School rated in the top 5 high schools in the state of Georgia and one of the nation’s top 150 schools by US News and World Report. He was recognized by the Georgia Parent Teacher Association (PTA) as the 2012 Outstanding High School Principal. He came to Savannah after serving as principal at two award winning turn-around schools in Charlotte, North Carolina and nationally recognized fine arts magnet school in Houston, Texas. He currently resides in Savannah, Georgia with his wife Kim, who is a retired first grade teacher. Gif serves of the board of the Savannah Ballet and formerly served on the boards of the Savannah Dance Festival and the Savannah Philharmonic’s Education Committee. The two enjoy traveling and their two daughters, son in-laws and three grandchildren.
