Tybee Island Police Department is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities in their first No Shave November.  Follow our participants all month and see them grow a beard, cultivate a mustache, or let those legs go natural.

Join the fun! Put down your razor for 30 days and set up your own personal fundraising page or donate the money spent on monthly hair maintenance (shaving, grooming or waxing) to RMHC.

Not ready to go hairy? Support one of our TIPD fundraisers today!

I need your vote!  I’m competing in the, No Shave November, contest. This contest raises money for The Ronald McDonald House.  This is a great charity that helps families of hospitalized children.  The Ronald McDonald House ensures families do not have to worry financially; their only focus is on their sick child.  I am a past winner of the, No Shave November, contest.  As the winner, the Tybee Island Police Association donated $100 to the charity of my choice.

I have been in law enforcement for 27 years.  I started my career at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.  The last 25 years I have spent at the Tybee Island Police Department.  I spent 4 of those years with the Chatham County Narcotics Team.  I currently hold the rank of Major with the Tybee Island Police Department.

I was lucky enough to grow up on Tybee Island.  I love being able to work and help the people of this community.  I attended St. Michael’s School, on Tybee, until graduation after 8th grade.  I graduated in 1990 from Benedictine Military School, in Savannah, Georgia.  I attended college at Valdosta State University and received a bachelor’s degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University.  Recently, I earned a master’s degree from Columbus State University.

I am married to Merritt Moore Fobes.  We have 4 children that we were blessed to adopt as a sibling group in 2012. Our oldest boys are 16-year-old twins.  Our youngest children are 12-year-old boy/girl twins.  I was adopted, as well as my 3 siblings, so I feel blessed that I was able to adopt my children as well.

I am a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, where I am a member of the Knights of Columbus.  I am also an active member in Tybee Island’s Marine Rescue Squadron (MRS) and have volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank, bagging groceries for the elderly and serving food at the Ronald McDonald House.   I love spending time with my family, traveling, and watching their sports as well as showing them the importance of giving back.  Please consider a vote for me to raise money for such a worthy cause.

Vote for me to win No Shave November!

The money raised goes back to support children and their families at the Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire!
